When I’m not being creative, I like to be helpful. I feel obligated to help others, especially those in marginalized communities. Not just because of how I was raised but due to a tragic event that happened to a family member of mine which changed the trajectory of my life and encouraged me to make sure history didn’t repeat itself. Here are examples of my volunteer work with various organizations. Starting with:

JIGSAW

I partook in Africa Day celebrations in Mulhuddart Community Centre promoting Jigsaw as well as making connections with other organisations at the event, and people such as Irish rapper/ singer Percy “Jafaris” Chamburuka and Cllr. JK Onwumereh.

In 2025, Jigsaw members from across the country got together to march in Dublin Pride 2025, as we worked together on designs for our banners, flags, and t-shirts promoting mental health for young people in the LGBT community, providing providence and safety for whatever struggles they might have.

I also partook in Peer Support functions where Youth Advocates from around Ireland would come together and try to galvanzie ideas that could encourage young people to speak about their mental health struggles. We were put into teams and given examples of an issue and how we could fix it, then we would present our ideas to the rest of the youth advocates and staff. Many of these were online however there was one on Tara Street.

I helped redesign and paint a new welcome sign for our Blanchardstown site, incorporating all languages commonly used by the communities of the area. I did research to see which are the top 10 languages used most in the Dublin 15 by asking people from various communities (example: Romanian, Indian) to make sure that the information I got was authentic.

Alongside my fellow Youth Advocate Stephanie, we helped autism awareness on World Autism Day.
I also designed not one but two booklets for Jigsaw breaking down how the services work. This was interesting project to work on as it was the Youth Advocates calling the shots on this, and our choices would be kept it mind when it went to the official Jigsaw designer. with the templates, text and images provided by Teresa Howes.

I was even on the website (kinda)

AHEAD

I helped created a puppet which was meant as a persona to promote universal design in society.
Done in collaboration with TU Dublin and the National Disability Authority. My puppet – Siúrtain – was meant as a stand-in for people with autoimmune disorders. The project was a success as it was promoted in the Bridging The Gap event in Convention Centre and other nations, such as Norway. Displayed work depicting universal design as part of a college project I’m collation with the Centre of Excellence in Universal Design. The project was called: Meet the Normals.
NATIONAL DISABILITY AUTHORITY

Basically presented a fun little game for the youths breaking down Universal Design in an entertaining way. Do X task in X amount of time. There was prizes. I was again a volunteer in presenting the same game the following year in explaining the concept of universal design.
TEDXTUD

TEDXTUDublin was an event that was organised by TUD students across all campuses. I helped set up the stage in the pre production, and helped dismantle it once the event was finished. I made sure that none of the speakers were interrupted as they gave their presentations, and in the interlude, I was an usher helping audience members back into their seats and directing them to their nearest exists in the breaks.
DISABILITY PRIDE MARCH

I had also partook in the disability pride march. As a disabled person, I am sadly well aware of how disadvantaged we are in society and I see no point in waiting around.
PALESTINE MARCH

Not much needs to be said about this. Huge turn out on the 77th anniversary of the Nakba النَّكْبَة .
